Preparation
To have healthy and successful food plots, it’s always wise to take a soil sample of the areas that you plan on planting. This gives you a lot of key information that could save you money down the road. Once we know how much fertilizer/lime, we study the soil type and decide your options for the perfect crop and whether you are planting a spring plot or a fall plot. There are a few variables to take into consideration. When we get a plan together on the fertilizer, seed, and time, we will come in approximately 2 weeks prior to planting and spray for any unwanted or competing foliage.
- We will get you quality soil samples
- Work with you to produce a complete food plot plan: seed, fertilizer, planting time, etc.
- Spray 2 weeks prior to planting to eliminate/decrease unwanted competition
Planting The Food Plot
Depending on the condition of the plot once the herbicide has done its job, we either harrow and drill/plant or we can no till the seed in depending on the cover on the ground.
- We have all the necessary equipment to plant: harrow and drill or no-till
- After planting we will apply fertilizer as necessary
- We frequently check on the progress of all our cleints food plots
